As we approach the end of 2016 amidst the demands of the ever-increasing Festive rush, We wanted to give you a little round up of our year, what we’ve been working on, the latest insights and also recognising a few flagship customers that we’ve brought on-board this year (you’ll have to wait for part 2 of this blog for that though!).
2016 has gained worldwide notoriety for being, in general, a year of shocks, Celebrity deaths, shock political changes and a complicated year for Champagne growth to name a few!
Despite these difficulties, 2016 has been a great year for Team Bermar.
A New Brand for Bermar
We launched our new brand in March 2016- a new website, a new look and new technology, all built with you in mind. To celebrate 25 years at the cutting edge of the industry, The Bermar Collection included a new silver ‘anniversary’ option for the Classic model, along with a Satin Black, quite a change to the original systems that launched with the company back in 1991.
We not only wanted to change how these looked but also to engineer a more elegant, precise and contemporary range of preservation systems for their increasingly discerning customers. This meant re-imagining the entire design process of the intricate, industry standard technology. The result is not only more aesthetically appealing but is faster and more precise, yet features the lowest ever power consumption and cost of ownership. Tom Berresford, Operations Director explains: “When we began work on the new range, we had to reconsider everything that defines world-class wine & Champagne preservation systems – power, precision control, sustainability and reliability. We set our engineers the challenge of finding the perfect design for every element. The result is a complete revamp; the most elegant, exact and contemporary range of preservation systems from the traditional Classic and Compact models to the contemporary Tower and Pod Bar ranges. The new le Verre de Vin models are not only more aesthetically appealing but tick the boxes on speed and precision, yet with our lowest ever power consumption and cost of ownership.”
The response to the new Bermar branding has been incredible. We will continue to work to this standard and style, with strong attention to customer requirements and a balanced approach to making our products, website and customer service strategies move forwards with a focus on simplicity and premium quality.
The Rise of Fizz
We are well into the Festive season of 2016- and hope our customers are enjoying plenty of fun, fizz and wine by the glass opportunities. Christmas is a time for indulgences and celebrations, and customers will be up for treating themselves and others to a luxury tipple. Christmas set menus are an ideal opportunity to suggest wine and Champagne pairings to customers for each course.
There is an ever-increasing market for fizz sales- especially fizz by the glass! 40% of all Champagne and sparkling wine sales this year will be between October and December, so what better timing is there to implement a broader Champagne by the glass menu. Utilising Le Verre de Vin & Pod Bar to eliminate the twin perils of waste and serving a bad glass will ensure satisfied customers and increased profits.
We hope that all our customers have enjoyed a similarly successful 2016! A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Team Bermar!
